An American helicopter was shot down by partisans in South America. The surviving crew is in captivity. The US Central Intelligence Agency is throwing its best forces into the liberation of American citizens.

An elite group of special forces led by Dutch was abandoned in the South American jungle.

Jean-Claude Van Damme was supposed to play the Predator, but left the project after two days of filming. didn't want to be a "walking special effect". He was replaced by Kevin Peter Hall.

The filmmakers were trying to shoot a scene in which the Predator was supposed to jump from tree to tree. For this purpose, they wanted to use a monkey dressed in a special red suit. However, the monkey constantly tried to get rid of the uncomfortable outfit. In the end, this idea had to be abandoned.
